Meet Noni. A nail technician and merchant here at iKhokha. She is really passionate and enthusiastic about nail trends, styles and designs and can have you looking and feeling like a million bucks in no time!

Here’s what she has to say:

Who is Noni?

Noni is a 34 year old woman that from Inanda township. A mum to 4 boys and an entrepreneur (she smiles). I do nails for a living. I am a loving, caring person with a solution! I’m a super bubbly person, a goalgetter, great advisor – and most of all I love what I do.

“Life’s too short to have boring nails.” -Noni Gwala

What drove you to start your business?

It has always been my dream to run my own business. It comes with a lot of challenges but if you are self-driven, you will push forward. You will ask questions. You will join like-minded people who are in the same sector as you – and that helps a lot.

Who is one woman you look up to and why?

Samantha from Image Studio. She is my ex-boss and has given me a lot of advice and direction about my business.

What role has iKhokha played in helping you as female entrepreneur?

iKhokha has made my life easier now. I don’t have to follow people around for payment. Plus they are so professional and helpful. If you have a problem with your machine, they are always there to help. Also, their charges are much less compared to other speed points. I love it!

What advice would you tell your 16 year old self?

If you want something, go for it! Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t. Anything is possible if you believe in yourself and remain focussed.

How do people get a hold of you?

I’m at 13 Ennisdale Drive, Durban North, behind Kensington Square. My contact number is 082 253 6122 and working hours are Tuesday to Friday 8am to 3pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm.

“Life is not perfect but your nails can be.”

Samantha Gounden

Hey, I’m Samwise. The Storyteller and friendly face behind the words, here at iKhokha. When I'm not dotting my i's and crossing my t's, I set out to conquer the universe in other ways…behind a camera lens, on radio or being a Podcast Princess. A perfect day? Curling up with a great book in one hand and coffee in the other. A perfect life? Smiles, giggles and the company of my devilishly gorgeous labs.
